GREETINGS!
I AM GENETRA N. ROBINSON AND I AM HONORED TO SERVE AS THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR FOR THE JACKSON FEDERATION OF TEACHERS & PSRPS, AFL-CIO. MY MEMBERSHIP IN THIS AWESOME UNION BEGAN BACK IN 2009. EVER SINCE THEN, I HAVE BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN OUR UNION. I AM A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF JACKSON, MS AND ALSO MATRICULATED THROUGH THE JACKSON PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT, GRADUATING FROM PROVINE HIGH SCHOOL.  AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, I WENT ON TO RECEIVE MY BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEGREE AT JACKSON STATE UNIVERSITY MAJORING IN FINANCE. MY MASTER’S DEGREE WAS OBTAINED IN ELEMENTARY TEACHING EDUCATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX. CURRENTLY, I AM IN MY 11TH YEAR AS AN EDUCATOR. EIGHT OF THOSE YEARS WERE SPENT WITH THE JACKSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT. I AM A STRONG ADVOCATE FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION WITH A STRONG BELIEF IN HANDS-ON INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING. I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH ALL EDUCATORS AND ASSISTING THEM WITH THE INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES THAT THEY CAN APPLY TO THEIR 21ST CENTURY CLASSROOMS.
