Courses Offerings for Fall 2024
All PD courses are held on Saturdays and run from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM. For multi-day sessions, you must attend all sessions to qualify for CEU credit.
Culturally Responsive Pedagogy -- Learn how to engage students from diverse cultures in ways that support their self-efficacy, confidence, self-determination, and their learning. September 28, 2024; 0.6 CEUs.
Differentiating Instruction -- Learn how to differentiate instruction to reach students regardless of their interests and levels of motivation. This course focuses on three specific differentiation models. October 5, 2024; 0.6 CEUs.
Navigating the Bridge Between Stress and SEL -- This course focuses on stressors that affect one's well-being and professional life. Participants will learn to implement both preventative measures and coping strategies. The course also examines social and emotional aspects of experiences and the lessons that can be gleaned from them. October 26, 2024; 0.6 CEUs.
Bullying: A Guide for Identification and Intervention -- This course focuses on identifying the people involved with bullying and the role of educators in the process. The course also focuses on interventions and planning to ensure a bully-free educational environment. November 30, 2024; 0.6 CEUs.
Reclaiming Assessment: Using a Balanced Classroom Assessment System to Strengthen Student Learning -- This course is designed to help you understand the power of assessment and monitoring student growth to inform instruction. It focuses on using a balanced assessment system to support instructional decisions for optimal student success. December 7, 2024; 0.6 CEUs.
Introduction to English Language Learners / ELL 101 (NEW) -- This course is designed to preach preK - 12 mainstream educators and paraprofessionals research-based strategies, best practices, and approaches to assist their own instruction in helping English language learners meet academic standards. This is part of a 30-hour course, so more information will be coming regarding the course specifics. At this point, this is a one-day session worth 0.6 CEUs, with the possibility of continuing the course in the spring with new material. Check back to see if the course is expanded.
